It is with great sadness that we inform that on June, 22nd 2025, Judith Wick Peterson passed away. Just shy of her 87th birthday, she left earth peacefully, surrounded by her family — a fitting end for someone who always lived and loved with her whole heart.

Born in Australia, Judith was a force of nature from the start. She lived her youth barefoot on the beach, dancing to jazz and chasing every adventure that life offered. She became a nurse and then a midwife at a young age — compassionate and fearless — delivering babies in the outback and even caring for orphaned kangaroos.

Her wild spirit took her hitchhiking through Europe, where she got stuck in England and worked as a hairdresser to earn her way back to Australia. But fate had other plans. At a party, she met a charming Swiss man, Nicklaus Wick. Two weeks later, they decided to marry. Two months later, they were on a boat to Switzerland — a country where she didn’t speak the language, but where she would build a whole new world.

In Switzerland, she created a vibrant home and raised two daughters, Nicole Thakuri and Michèle Wick. She was famous for her unforgettable parties, her laugh, her bold fashion, and that undeniable sparkle in her eyes.

Judith’s heart stretched far beyond borders. She was one of the founding members of NAG in Nepal. She fundraised tirelessly and touched lives on three continents. Her impact is global — from the Swiss Alps to the red sands of Australia to the streets of Kathmandu. She was one of the driving forces of the NAG Foundation in Switzerland. She never forgot a face. She made everyone feel special – and would remember every donor she once met.

After six long years battling dementia, she left us peacefully. Her legacy lives on in the lives she brought into this world, the children im Nepal she helped, the people she inspired, and the family who adored her.

She may be gone, but it will never be forgotten what she did for NAG. NAG wouldn’t exist without her.
