As the COVID-19 case numbers are on the rise here in Nepal, NAG has continued the lockdown in order to contain the safety inside. So far, no one has shown any symptoms of the virus and we are doing all we can to ensure the safety of the NAGers. As for the online schooling, we have started to give classes, not only to those who live inside NAG, but also to the day scholars who can join their lessons through their phones. Teachers have also been making extra efforts to educate the students as well as themselves on the process of online learning. Other than school, we have also had multiple programs this month, organised by the NAGers. A theatre competition took place surrounding multiple societal issues such as acid attacks, bullying and sexual harassment. They all did very well, leaving the judges profoundly touched by each message. Therefore, it was decided that all of the teams would be considered winners. A Pride program was also organised given the fact that June is the official Pride Month. Many of the kids dressed up in colourful outfits, bedazzling the spectators with their creativity. A lip-synching/ drag competition was also a part of the program, giving the kids an opportunity to show their true colours and experiment with their imagination. All in all, even with the lockdown, this month was packed with exciting activities and festive occasions that gave the kids some light during these trying times. We hope everyone is staying safe and hope this situation ceases before long.
